What's that on the front page of the paper? A #QR Code

Some of you may have noticed that block of squares we are printing on the bottom of the front page of our print edition. Many of you may be wondering what it is, or how to use it.

That block of squares is called a QR code, or Quick Response code, and is similar to a bar code. QR codes were invented by a subsidiary of Toyota in Japan about 10 years ago. Our QR codes act as a link to one of our videos online at www.pottsmerc.com/video.

We will be featuring this code every day on our front page, promoting a different video at random. To find out what the video is of you will need a smart phone with Internet capability, a camera on your phone and a QR code reader. New versions of smart phones may come preloaded with a reader. If you do not have one, there are several types of readers available online that you can download and install. Just go online and search for "QR code reader." Read More
