#QR codes hid around campus reveal flash mob events | Universe.byu.edu

They put the QR codes in places they thought nerds would find them: the Talmage, Eyring and Benson buildings.

Tom Johnson, a law student at BYU, and his sister-in-law, Emily Peterson, hid QR codes in a few of the buildings’ bathroom stalls, water fountains and microwaves. Once decoded, the codes reveal messages about flash mob events, which will raise money for Utah County Children’s Justice Center.

“The only way we’ve been advertising is by pasting these [codes] in weird places in the nerd buildings,” Johnson said about QR codes. Read More
