Crack the Black Friday code - BostonHerald.com
In a more traditional, but still useful deployment of QR codes, Toys “R” Us has included them in their annual Great Big Toys “R” Us Book, where scanning a code allows shoppers to see a toy in action before purchasing it. At Legacy Place in Dedham, the code on the welcome map fills you in on sales at the various stores and even updates you on raffles and contests.
Only time will tell if these campaigns succeed in building loyalty or actually driving sales. But by going beyond the typical uses of QR codes to deliver information on a product or drive traffic to a website, companies are making the holiday shopping experience a little bit easier and more fun.
