"We're going to be putting it on everything ... People are starting to get their heads wrapped around how they can apply it and adapt it to their various departments."
For example, the city's tourism department is looking at how to use QR codes in some of its publications, she said.
The new Fredericton Convention Centre has just put a QR code on one of its ads, she said.
The city is hosting a major conference at the convention centre in June for the South Eastern United States-Canadian Provinces Alliance, which will attract lots of political and business heavy hitters, and there will be a lot of QR codes in use at that event such as on business cards, said Guthrie.
