SXSW 2011: Day One: Picking up the press badge, getting caught jaywalking - National Comedy | Examiner.com

This year's SXSW (that's South-by-Southwest, for the Austin-ally challenged) is notable here at Comedy Examiner HQ for two reasons: One, it's the first SXSW that I've been able to attend as an Austin resident, as I moved down to the greatest-city-in-the-country (that's right: suck it, Shermer, Illinois) after last year's festival; and two, it's the 25th anniversary of the festival. Not only is SXSW the biggest, best film festival to unfold in Austin each year (though Fantastic Fest gives it a solid run for its money), but this year's festival has more big name movies, celebrities, and awesome events than ever before.
