Vancouver police hope smart phones will help nab sexual predator w/ #QR Codes

Police investigating a series of sex crimes in the city's entertainment district believe smart phones will help them nab a sexual predator.

Officers have tacked posters featuring 'QR codes' on bathroom stall doors in nightclubs all over the city. The small black and white bar codes can be scanned by smart phones, sending users to a webpage that features video, pictures, maps and more information about the sex crimes.

"We needed to get our info to the right eyes," said Sgt. Matt Clarke of Vancouver police department's sex crimes unit. "This was a way to connect to people who get their news from their smartphone."
