Bay Area Shoppers Can Scan #QR Code and Get a Free Verizon Phone

SAN FRANCISCO, June 22, 2011 — Want a new cellphone or hot smartphone? Bay Area EVO2 stores are giving away free Verizon phones simply for scanning a QR code at the front of the store and spreading the word to others about this exclusive one-time deal.

“Come into any EVO2 Verizon Wireless Premium store, scan the QR code, tell your friends about the great deal and get a brand new cell phone or smartphone,” said Robert Marhamat, Vice President of Sales with EVO2. “We have a great selection to choose from, including Android-based smartphones.”

During the promotion, Bay Area customers simply need to scan the QR code located on the door of EVO2 store locations and alert their Facebook™ friends about the exclusive promotion. After the Facebook posting has been verified by an EVO2 representative, customers can choose any phone in-store for free, with a 2-year new activation, after mail-in-rebate (iPhones not included).

“That’s an offer that’s worth hundreds of dollars,” Marhamat said. “Plus if you bring in a friend and each of you takes advantage of the promotion, both of you will receive a $25 referral card. If cost has been stopping you from buying a new phone, or if you’ve been waiting to switch carriers, this is the best opportunity to get a new device for free. But people need to act quickly because the offer expires on June 30.”
