Shopping Baskets Plus announced today that they are applying QR codes to shopping baskets as an optional feature.
As customers carry the plastic shopping baskets with QR codes around a store, they become mobile advertising vehicles to draw smart phone equipped customers to view “reduced price specials” web pages. According to Randy Pickard, General Manager of Shopping Baskets Plus, “QR codes are still novel enough that adding them to shopping baskets will seem cutting edge and appeal to a desirable audience of upscale shoppers”.
